Snowshoes afford non-skiers, too, a wonderful winter experience in the nature.
A hike to admire the wonderful winter landscape of Abruzzo-Lazio-Molise National Park. In the winter, everything is covered in the purest white, and an unreal silence falls over the valleys. Snowshoes are the ideal means to walk through this landscape; they are suitable for non-skiers, too, and in the last few years they have revolutionised winter hiking. Being wider that boots, they prevent the feet from sinking in the snow. The nature seems asleep in the winter but, at a closer look, it is more awake than ever. The traces left by animals are more visible on the snow, and can be easily followed on snowshoes. This hike also offers the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of mountain huts in winter. That is why participants may also decide to take part in the lunch organised at the wonderful Cicerana mountain hut.
Level of difficulty: Easy to medium. Difference in elevation: 250m approx. Duration: 4 hours. Length: 9 km
