View on MapMunicipality: BisegnaIn the hamlet of Bisegna, at the north entrance of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, there is the Park Visitor Center. The Park structure, managed since 2008 by the association Montagna Grande onlus, represents the first point of contact for tourists who want to visit the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.
In the Visitor Center, completely renovated, the project "Uomini e alberi raccontano" is illustrated, four species of plants each of which is linked to a guided path, chosen by the visitor, in the splendid Valle del Giovenco:
- The beech: Valle della Fossa
- The maple: Visit to the historical center of Bisegna
- The apple tree: Visit to the apple orchards in the valle delle Prata
- The pine apple: on the nature trail
Inside the center, on request, specialized personnel carry out environmental education activities. There is also a booklet on the history of Bisegna produced by the Association as an action of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.
At the center it is possible to book excursions, rent mountain bikes and snowshoes.
Opening times: In the winter: open on Sundays, 10am/1pm - 3/6pm
In the summer, on holidays and days before the holidays: 10am/1pm - 3/7pm
From July, 20th to August, 31st and from December, 24th to January, 6th: open every day
How to reach us: The Park Visitor Center is situated along SP road 17. It is easily accessible from Rome (A25, exit Pescina).
Entrance fee: Admission free.
