Thursday 8 August 2024An excursion starting at night to wait for the sun to rise and enjoy a breathtaking sunrise while enjoying an excellent Abruzzo breakfast together.
The moment the first rays of sun blanket the mountains in golden light, all the fatigue of waking up and climbing will suddenly vanish to immerse us in the morning quiet of nature when we wake up. With the light of the torches to illuminate our path, starting from Passo di Godi, at an altitude of 1550 m, we will climb up to an altitude of 2156 m, at the top of Cima Scalone an exceptional panoramic point that allows the gaze to sweep over the whole Abruzzo. The rising sun in the east, between La Majella and the Pizzi Mountains, will slowly illuminate the Gran Sasso chain to the north, the Matese and the Meta mountains to the south, the Marsicano and the mountains of the Abruzzo Park, the Sirente and the Velino towards the west.
We will enjoy this wonder while enjoying an excellent breakfast at the summit and then we will go back down in the light of day.
